Winston fly rods are known for their moderate action and enhanced dry fly capabilities. The new Pure series is made specifically for delicate presentations, spring creeks, and dry fly fishing. With Boron III Technology and a modern rod taper, it’s no wonder this rod won best new freshwater fly rod at IFTD in 2018. If you’re an avid dry fly angler looking for a rod that is supremely accurate and intimately delicate, look no further. The Pure may be the best dry fly rod on the market.
Boron III Technology - Winston’s Boron III Technology has revolutionized fly rod strength and lightweight rod design. Boron is 5x stronger than steel, 2x stiffer than steel, and 25% stronger than other graphite rods. Boron also has increased impact resistance and overall rod stability. Boron blanks have smoother energy transfer, increased hook setting power, and improved casting accuracy.
Chrome Nanolite Stripping Guide - A chrome plated nanolite stripping guide keeps the Pure lightweight and allows any fly line to move through the rod effectively. Winston’s choice of a nanolite stripping guide is perfect for light lines and delicate presentations.
Chrome Plated Light Wire Snake Guides - Similarly, light wire snake guides keep the Pure functional and stylish. Winston componentry is top notch and the guides on the Pure are no exception.
Maple Insert w/Nickel Silver Uplocking Components - The reel seat on the Pure is a real work of art. A maple insert and nickel componentry compliment the Winston Green blank nicely. This reel seat is perfect for smaller trout reels and holds up well in all weather conditions.
Premium Graphite Rod Tube - Winston’s classic green graphite rod tube matches the blank color of the Pure. These tubes hold up well in all conditions and protect the rod during travel and transportation.
Winston Unconditional Lifetime Guarantee - As of June 2019, Winston’s original owner guarantee covers every new Winston Boron/Graphite and Graphite fly rod against breakage or manufacturer defects. The rod owner must register the rod via warranty card or online. For all warranty work, the entire rod must be returned to Winston.
